ITEC 1021 – Web Development Fundamentals

ITEC 1021 Course Overview:

The Web Development Fundamentals course introduces the basics of creating websites through HTML5 and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS3) files. The basics of JavaScript and DOM are also covered. This course explains how to use HTML and CSS documents in order to create a professional, functioning website. HTML elements are introduced and implemented through different course assignments to help students create a functioning website using universal design and responsive web design.

Course Reflection: What I learned in ITEC 1021

This course was challenging but I loved it! I learned so much and the fact that I am able to create a functional website is amazing to me. I never realized how tedious creating a website can be! You have to be very detail oriented and thorough in your work but the payoff is definitely worth it. Before taking this course, I had no idea how much goes into coding a website. I love the fact that the sky is the limit when it comes to creating a website. Although I only learned the basics, I feel like I can expand on what I have learned and challenge myself to build even more complex sites. Even though I am not going into web design or programming, I hope to be able to use the skills and knowledge I have acquired from this course in my future IT career. I feel like these skills are invaluable to any IT professional and I am so glad I was able to take this course.
